The cost of your warranty depends on a few things:
- The make and model of your stairlift
- The exact nature of your stairlift configuration (whether it’s on a curved staircase for example, or outdoors)
- Whether it is new or reconditioned

While some manufacturers offer warranties on new stairlifts, these often don’t cover everything you need. Most of these warranties are over 12 or 24 months, and can be limited in scope. They won’t necessarily apply to reconditioned stairlifts either.
Our extended 5-year warranty has several advantages over most manufacturer warranties. These include:
- Free annual servicing
- Cost of all replacement parts, including consumables such as batteries
- Cost of all labour and callouts
- 5 years of cover, even on reconditioned stairlifts
There are some exclusions to our stairlift warranties.
Our free standard 2-year warranty excludes the cost of an annual service and if you need replacement batteries.
In addition, all our warranties exclude claims arising from:
- Accidental damage
- Misuse of the stairlift
- Repairs or servicing from third party companies
- Destruction of the stairlift due to fire or flood. You should let your home insurance company know after installation, to make sure you are fully covered.
Booking a repair or annual service is easy. Simply call 0800 995 6019 or request a callback and we’ll get you booked in. The only details we’ll need from you are your name, address and postcode.
It’s important to have an annual service on the anniversary of your stairlift being installed. This will help keep it in good working order, prevent breakdowns and prolong your lift’s life.
As part of your warranty all parts, labour and callouts are included. The only exception to this is battery replacements if you are on our standard 2-year warranty, where you would need to pay for the cost of the new battery.
Once your warranty ends, you will need to pay for any repairs your stairlift needs.
We recommend that you have an annual service of your stairlift to keep it in good working order and nip any issues in the bud.
No, if you move home and leave the stairlift behind, the warranty is not transferable to the new occupant.
However, if you’re moving and wish to take the stairlift, we can arrange for professional removal and reinstallation, depending on the stairlift model and configuration. As long as our team handles the move, your warranty can continue at your new address.
On average a well looked after stairlift should last 10 years. But the exact lifespan depends on a number of factors, including:
- How well the stairlift has been maintained and serviced
- Whether you had the lift from new or as a reconditioned unit
- How regularly the stairlift has been used
- Whether it is an indoor or outdoor stairlift (outdoor models don’t tend to last as long as indoor ones)
- The availability of spare parts as your stairlift gets older
As your stairlift gets older, particularly as it drops out of warranty, it becomes more important to have an annual service. This will keep your lift in the best working order, as well as help nip smaller problems in the bud before they become larger issues.
In between services, there are a few things you can do to help keep your stairlift running smoothly:
- Regular cleaning – vacuum or run a cloth over the rails and seat to remove dust/hair.
- Don’t exceed the stairlift’s maximum weight limit – putting extra strain on the lift can lead to a breakdown.
- Don’t let children or others mess about with the controls – while a stairlift can seem a great new toy to children, repeated or overly heavy use of the controls could cause a fault.
- Getting the stairlift repaired and parts replaced if something seems wrong – prevent little issues developing into larger, more costly ones.
