What To Look For When Buying A Reconditioned Stairlift
Shopping for a stairlift can be tough. There are several things you need to factor in when making your decision, especially if you are looking to purchase a reconditioned stairlift and not buy a brand new one.
Shopping for a reconditioned stairlift can be a little bit different from purchasing a new stairlift so it’s important that you know what to look for when buying a reconditioned stairlift before you buy.
What Is A Reconditioned Stairlift?
A reconditioned stairlift is a stairlift that has been used and owned before. When someone no longer needs a stairlift then they have the option to sell or donate their stairlift so it can become a reconditioned stairlift.
A reconditioned stairlift works exactly the same as a brand new stairlift. We repair or replace anything that might need replacing, like the seat or motor and make sure the stairlift is working just like brand new.
We put all our reconditioned stairlifts through the exact same rigorous testing that we put all our other stairlifts and we don’t sell any stairlifts until we are sure that it is entry safe.
Are Reconditioned Stairlifts Safe?
Reconditioned stairlifts are completely safe. Here at Senior Stairlifts, your safety is our absolute top priority and we don’t sell any stairlifts that we are not 100% happy with.
When we get a stairlift that needs reconditioning we check every element of the stairlift and replace any that need replacing or anything we are not happy with. We also change out certain parts, like the seats, for hygiene reasons.
All of our stairlifts are put through rigorous testing, whether they are brand new or reconditioned. We have very high safety and quality standers here at Senior Stairlifts and if a stairlift doesn’t pass out testing, or if we are simply not happy with it, we don’t sell it.
What To Look For When Buying A Reconditioned Stairlifts?
When shopping for a new stairlift there are a few things, you need to take into consideration, especially if you are looking for a reconditioned stairlift.
Unlike new stairlifts, reconditioned stairlifts are often limited to what we have available at the time, and we can’t guarantee what stock we will have in. You need to know exactly what you are looking for when you look for a reconditioned stairlift, so here is what to look for when buying a reconditioned stairlift.
The type of stairlift you need is very important. There are different types of stairlifts you can buy depending on your staircase. you need to know if you need a straight stairlift or a curved stairlift. A straight stairlift follows a straight track up the stairs.
A curved stairlift curves round either at the base or the top of the stairlift so that you have more space at the bottom or top of the stairs. This is especially useful if there isn’t much room or if there is a doorway that cannot be obstructed a stairlift.
You also need to consider if your stairlift bends or has a corner in it as you might not be able to find a reconditioned stairlift that perfectly fits your staircase.
Measure your staircase before you start looking for a stairlift. You need to know the exact measurements of stairlift if you want to find reconditioned stairlifts. Whereas brand new stairlifts can be built to fit your staircase, reconditioned stairlifts don’t have the same wiggle room.
If you already have the exact measurements of your staircase (length, width, height) it can make finding the right-sized reconditioned stairlifts for you.
