There are limits, but for the most part, yes. One of the main advantages of the Ergo Curved Stairlift is its ability to fit virtually any curved staircase—including those with tight bends, half-landings, multiple floors, or unusual layouts. Each rail is individually manufactured using a twin rail system, custom-made to match the exact dimensions and shape of your staircase.
A professional surveyor will visit your home to carry out detailed measurements, often using digital stair-mapping technology. This ensures the final rail will follow your staircase precisely, providing a smooth and stable ride around every corner.
The stairlift can be fitted to either the left or right side of the staircase, depending on the layout and what works best for your home. Thanks to its compact design, the Ergo can also be installed in homes with narrow staircases, and the folding seat, footrest, and arms allow others to use the stairs without obstruction.
The Platinum Ergo Curved Stairlift is designed with battery-powered operation, meaning it will continue functioning during a power cut. The lift is fitted with long-lasting rechargeable batteries that will cycle energy to keep the batteries healthy & increase their lifespan.
In the event of a power outage, the batteries kick in seamlessly, allowing you to continue using the stairlift without interruption. This provides vital peace of mind, especially for users who rely on their lifts daily or live alone.
Depending on usage and battery condition, the stairlift can complete multiple trips before needing to recharge. Once power is restored, the batteries automatically begin recharging, so you don’t have to worry about plugging anything in manually.
