Make sure your stairlift is plugged in, switched on and getting enough power. If you are using a remote control to use your stairlift, check that it is fully charged or that the batteries in it are working.

Low power is often the cause of that beeping noise you sometimes hear when a stairlift breaks down.

Check there is nothing obstructing the stairlift. Stairlifts are designed to have sensors for safety reasons. If something is blocking the way is the stairlift will stop short of it to make sure that nothing gets stuck in the mechanism and to ensure no one gets hurt.

Sometimes a build-up of dust can trigger the sensor so if there is nothing obvious in the way then it might be that you need to give your stairlift a wipe so that it can run smoothly.
