Can I Get Help To Buy A Stairlift?
We understand that buying a stairlift isn’t a small purchase and you might not be able to afford a brand new stairlift.
You can apply for grants from the government to help you but a stairlift if you really need one. If you live in England, Northern Ireland, or Wales then you can apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant through your local council.
Disabled Facilities Grant is a means-tested grant so it’s possible you may not qualify, or if you do qualify, the grant may not cover the entire price of the stairlift.
Every local council is different and there’s no guarantee that the money you get will cover the price of a new stairlift. If this is the case, then you might want to look at more cost-effective alternatives to buying a brand new stairlift.
What Is A Reconditioned Stairlift?
A reconditioned stairlift, or a second-hand stairlift, is a stairlift that is preowned and has already been used by someone. These are generally people who didn’t own the stairlift for long so they are practically brand new. They work just the same as a brand new stairlift would and our team is professionally trained to install them as safely and as efficiently as possible.
Here at Senior Stairlifts, we have a range of reconditioned stairlifts, although we cannot guarantee which ones will be available. After a quick survey of the staircase where you wish to install your stairlift, we can see what we have available and find the right stairlift to suit you and your needs.

Reconditioned stairlifts are perfectly safe. Here at Senior Stairlifts, your safety is our top priority. We want you to feel as safe and secure as possible when you use one of our stairlifts and so we make sure every stairlift we sell meets our very high standards.
When we recondition a stairlift we replace the items like the seat and make sure the stairlift is thoroughly cleaned before you use it. Along with safety, hygiene is incredibly important, and we want to make sure every stairlift we provide is cleaned to the highest standard.
